With music and lyrics composed by Bill Whelan, produced by Moya Doherty and directed by John McColgan, Riverdance - The Show is a development of an original idea by Producer Moya Doherty, which was initially performed at the Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin in April 1994. It is an innovative and exciting blend of dance music and song. Drawing on Irish traditions, the combined talents of the performers propel Irish dancing and music into the present day, giving it a relevance, which captures the imagination of audiences across all ages and divides. Featuring a total company of one hundred, with the remarkable Riverdance Irish Dance Troupe, the cream of Irish musicians in the Riverdance Orchestra and a spectacular array of talent from Spain, Russia and America all performing to magic of Bill Whelan music.
