The Killers Tickets

It had to happen eventually and was only a matter of time before a group would emerge from Las Vegas to give the inhabitants of Sin City an escape from their culturally underperforming past. The Killers were perfectly adapted to becoming a dominant species in the world of pop.

Part new wave and part new-millennium post-punk, this Las Vegas foursome originally got together in 2002. These Las Vegans wrote in 120 degree temperatures in the garage that became their rehearsal room and when they could not use that suitably intense hot-house they gained surreptitious mid-night access to the facilities available at UNLV music school.

It was during these pressurized sessions that The Killers began to live up to the expectation of their name and wrote the bulk of the songs that were to comprise their debut album, the fittingly-titled “Hot Fuss.” For their first ever gigs outside of Las Vegas they traveled to London, UK and had a subsequent appearance at New York industry fiesta CMJ in October 2003. Those appearances were a hit and the Killers were off.

The Killers took the fashionista pop world by storm in summer 2004 with "Somebody Told Me." The perfectly stylish song pulls from the band's influences — the Smiths, New Order, Oasis, and the Cure — and it was just enough to get them on MTV. "Hot Fuss" was a triumph. The Killers were Nominated For 4 MTV Video Music Awards For "Mr. Brightside" - Best Group Video, Best Rock Video, Best New Artist in a Video, and Best Art Direction in a Video. They won Best New Artist in a Video.
